SADOLLAH ADDRESSES UFC91

November 12th, 2008  |  Published in NEWS, Uncategorized  |  57 Comments

To all my fans,
I really appreciate all the support you have sent my way and I am so sorry I am not able to fight this weekend. I trained harder for this than any other fight in my life and I was looking forward to this more than you know.

It started on friday with a small mark on my leg. I immediately went to the doctor and he gave me medication and told me if it got worse to go to the hospital. Well, it got worse and on Sunday I went in and have been here ever since. I am hoping they will discharge me by Thursday.

I am very sorry if I disappointed anyone. A lot of work by a lot of people went into this. For it to end with something totally out of my control makes it difficult to swallow. I will be back in the gym as soon as possible and will be ready to fight as soon as Joe Silva can get me back in.

I’d like to thank my coaches, trainers, SuckerPunch, fans and sponsors (TapouT, Sprawl, THQ/UFC Undisputed 2009 and HelpingHealthClubs.com) for their support. Nobody is more disappointed than me. I appreciate everything everyone put into this and can only look forward to getting back in the octagon as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Amir

Cheer up butter cup!LOL! Hope you get better soon, health is most important right now, had one of those a few years ago, so
you must take care of it and most of all relax because stress makes things worst. I know we will see you soon and you will be even better. Listen to some Yoni or that guy that plays the flute or something to help you relax. LOL!! ADIOS from NYC.

It’s always better to be safe than sorry. It would suck if Amir ignored the leg infection and then got seriously injured or have problems with his leg down the line, no one would want that to happen. Health should always be the number one concern of any athlete, I think Amir made the right decision.

  18. Aaron says:

Besides, I wasn’t let down by Amir whatsoever, if anything, I hold a lot more respect for the guy for making a smart choice.

Hope you get better Amir “Fearless” Sadollah. btw heard you might move down a weight class. I could see you doing great in either. Personally I’d rather see you as a middleweight, just add some mass(Dolce Diet, you might know him), but that’s just an opinion.

  39. Jesse from NYC says:

    November 20th, 2008at 12:24 pm(#)

    Amir,

I am looking forward to watching you fight. I think you are a good fighter with a lot of potential. I also like your chilled out and joker personality. It’s refreshing to see a talented fighter who is not a primadonna. The only thing about you fighting at middleweight is that the michael jordan of MMA is in your weight division (anderson silva) but by the time you get a title shot he might be retired (i hope not). A fight that would be really cool is you and Bisping in the UK. I can see you submitting bisping with an arm bar.

Take care and keep posting or replying by email lol
I am actually going to be at UFC 92 and that should be awesome (my first MMA event and first time in Vegas).

    Thanks,
    Zack

Mr Sadollah, don’t give up! You’ve got a good future and lots of potential I think. Keep fighting, keep winning, I’d love to see you work your way to fighting Anderson Silva!
Sorry to hear about your leg, rest well and get well soon.
